Announcement: Symposium of Paper Engineers in Darmstadt in October

The Symposium of Paper Engineers will be held in Darmstadt from October 19 to 21. This year's theme of the lecture series is KLARTEXT.RECYCLING, in which, among others, Professor Schabel will also give a lecture on the “Opportunities and challenges for the circular economy with paper”.

PMV at the Science Flash of the ZELLCHEMING-Expo

Niklas Schäfer participated at the Science Flash of the ZELLCHEMING-Expo on June 21, 2023. The topic of his talk was “Mechanical properties of folded paper cores”. Niklas delivered the talk in the style of the “Sendung mit der Maus”, for which the audience thanked him with loud applause.

New bachelor's degree program Bio-Materials Engineering
2023/06/19
The new bachelor's program Bio-Materials Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU Darmstadt will start in the winter semester. The online application is open until 31.08.23. The new program includes topics in mechanical engineering as well as chemistry, biology and materials science.

Excursion to FriPa
2023/06/19
In mid-June, a large group of students had the opportunity to visit the company FriPa in Miltenberg, which manufactures tissue paper. After a friendly welcome and introduction, the group had a tour of the pulp production, two paper machines, the paper converting department and the high-bay warehouse. After lunch, we returned to Darmstadt. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the company once again for the exciting insights!
